Crystal Wood is a writer who has worked in print, television and theatre. She studied English at the University of Manitoba, and television writing at the Canadian Film Centre. Her writing has appeared in several publications, including FreeFall literary magazine, Mooney on Theatre, and Oxygen and Toro magazines. She was a finalist in the Writer’s Union of Canada’s Short Prose Competition, and has received mentorship in writing from novelist Alissa York (Mercy) and television writer Karen Walton (Orphan Black). Crystal has also written for the stage and screen, with her most recent play Grief Circus presented by Steady State Theatre and Storefront Theatre in Toronto, and FemFest in Winnipeg. Her play Stay was presented at the 2010 InspiraTO Festival. Crystal also wrote the short film The Morning After, which screened at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival. In 2014, she was awarded the inaugural Screenwriter Mentorship Award at the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival.
